Maxi Gamer Xentor 32 Page 6
More Benchmarks!
To give Guillemot's U-TNT2 card, the Xentor 32 credit for your hard-earned money, we'll throw more benchmarks to this nice AGP card.
Shogo: M.A.D. Benchmark
Monoliths excellent 3D Anime FPS game, Shogo: Mobile Armor Division (M.A.D.) will also give you a more accurate view on the Xentor 32's Direct3D performance. We have used patch v2.2.1.4 with Shogo: MAD and for the time demo we have worked with "Reverend's SHOGO Demo" by Anthony 'Reverend' Tan. Sound effects and music were disabled and we used the 16-bit surface depth of Shogo: M.A.D. instead of 8bit.

Like the previous benchmarks with Quake II and Unreal, these new benchmarks are definitely showing what the Xentor 32 is capable off. It delivers very fast frame rates at every resolution, even in 32-bit rendering on a 19 inch high-end Iiyama 'Vision Master 450' monitor! The card is really fast in Direct 3D and now that Microsoft has released the RC for Direct X 7.0 we will see more improvements in the D3D department. This Ultra TNT2 card is also a real speed demon in OpenGL performance. Especially in higher resolutions (over 1024 x 768) the Xentor 32 is very competitive with the high-end range of 3dfx Voodoo 3 (3000 / 3500). And in the future, when more games will use larger textures, 32-bit rendering and more complex engines, the Xentor 32 will definitely move forward instead of falling behind like the Voodoo 3.
Of course, when you want a game to be playable with all the settings set to 'high', 1600 x 1200 is really the limit for this card, especially with 32 Mb on-board SDRAM but please remember that the higher your CPU Mhz is and the more Ram you have installed on your system, the faster games will run and you'll definitely get higher frame rates.
No 3DMark Pro Benchmarks?
When you really want to evaluate the video card's 'overall' Direct 3D performance, there is only one program that can deliver realistic tests and that is '3D Mark Pro'. This handy program will fire a collection of real world tests to the card which are all based on the MAX-FX engine. It will also do some theoretical tests so that it can show the potential limits and downfalls.
However, when retrieving the program, 3D Mark Pro, something went terrrible wrong with the data that it was absolutely impossible to give you those tests, on time! However we do think that you'll be satisfied with our previous benchmarks and that you'll see the true power of this Ultra-TNT2 card, the Xentor 32 from Guillemot.
On the next page, I'll give you some more details regarding its overclocking, TV-Out and DVD support.
