Euro 2000
Page 2

So, do we have sound?

Yes! The game is fully packed with lots and lots of sounds.
Maybe the best part is the comment during a match. Professional BBC commentators give really excellent comment about the match. When you take-off, they give you a small intro about the guest-country till the first actions begin. It gives a great kick when you make a good attack and you finally score on a brilliant way. They just praise you with their comment. You might think that you will hear the same a lot but no, you have to be very focused to hear the same comment. This makes the game a real classic.
Of course the game doesn't contain only 'comment' dialogues. There is also enough "ambient noise". When you score, the public cheers out loud (at least the supporters of your team). When your team makes a fault and the referee doesn't makes a point off it, you will hear your public shout at him. There is also music during the game menus. It's a bit techno, jazz and house. It keeps you playing so the overall sound quality is again superb. And super DJ Paul Oakenfold (see our interview) is also responsable for the music tracks!

Can your opponents play some serious soccer?

Not convinced yet?
Then try to win Euro 2000 in world-class. In amateur, you can win easy from them but in world-class you have to play extremely good to book some successes.
Your counter players have a pretty good AI build in. When you try to do an attack and you are basically all alone, they will try to close you in. Their defence is also very good. Maybe the best player on the field is the keeper. You can't almost make no goal when you're alone with the keeper. Therefor, you will have to pass to another player and do some tricky combinations to mislead the keeper. The players do work good in team. But in amateur mode, they aren't such good team players.

Conclusion

EA Sports gives us as usual another great football game. This title, Euro 2000, has everything to make a best-seller.
Solid gameplay where you can adjust almost everything. An up-to-date database with the players and enough background about every team.
Then you have these marvellous graphics together with recognisable players (every real-life player has its own digital model). The stadiums are also properly shaped. Together with good AI and addicting soundtracks, this game is certainly strong enough to compete with its big broter, namely "Fifa 2000".

In one word, you can call this game a hit! Great soccer game!
