Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun Firestorm Page 2
The Graphics
The graphics are almost the same from the original except the new lifeforms, vegatation and units. The units are nicely detailed but not so good like other RTS games. This isn't really a negative point because the gameplay makes everything good.
The new Tiberian lifeforms look rather weird and scary. Some are just large spiders that spit dangerous gasses others look like pigs. But not everything is bad. The Ion storms are just gorgeous to look at. When you throw a grenade towards the blue crystals they will explode but keep your troops away from it because this isn't very safe at all. Trust me on this. The vegation isn't as ordinair as the original. There are these strange tiberium bushes and trees. But to know exactly how it looks, you'll need to check out the screenshots below.
Sound and Music
The creators made a couple of new soundtracks but they aren't so good. They just repeat them all the time and that isn't the way to keep a gamer playing. So, a few hours later, I had to turn the music off.
On the other hand, the several in-game sound effects are pretty good. Machine guns and cannons make their typical sounds and the ambient sounds are decent too. When a soldier dies he screams the hell out of him. It's almost real!
Multiplayer
This expansion pack (or mission disk) for 'Tiberian Sun', "Firestorm" contains several new maps which you can conquer. Skirmish games can be saved now but sadly not the online ones. The biggest new thing in this whole expansion pack is certainly "The World Domination Tour".
Your objective: take over a continent of your choice and fight for every spot of it! First, you have to choose a side. Then you can begin with expanding your territory but you can only take one at a time. When a team has conquered the whole continent they win and you can start all over again. This is very cool so you've got to check it out. You can play with up to 8 persons on a map. This mode guarantees solid combat.
Conclusion
Is it worth buying? Yes, it is!. Westwood Studios released one of the best add-on in ages. It contains lots of new stuff and 2 new campaigns with some hard core action. There are also new multiplayer maps and you finally can save your skirmish missions.
Maybe the new mode, 'World Domination Tour' is the reason why you should buy this add on. I guaranty you that you will be fighting with a reason. So fellow soldiers, rush to your local Software store, open your wallet, get your money out of it and buy this damn fine add on!
