A little introduction

It's been a while since Microsoft pleased us with "Motocross Madness" , an excellent game.
Now the same folks are bringing us the sequel, namely Motocross Madness 2. Enthusiast as I was, I jammed the CD in my drive and installed this baby.
The installation was clearly and fast. After 5 minutes I could start with the game. The first thing that I saw was a stunning biker showing me some neat tricks, accompanied with a mind sweeping soundtrack.
Once again I was very pleased so I wanted to play it this game immediately.

Start your engine!

The menu is rather disappointing. There isn't much structure in it.
After clicking some buttons I did a practice session, just to test my skills because it has been a while since it played its predecessor. I was pleasantly amazed with what I saw.
This game has stunning graphics. Before me there were huge mountains with small bushes and trees. So there I stood in the middle of nowhere. The fun could begin.

My joystick was automatically configured so all I had to do was pushing this bike towards the hills to do some neat tricks. My bike drove extremely good and very realistic. My first stunt-attempt wasn't a big succes. I pushed the wrong button and my character felt off his bike at 50 meters above the ground, preparing a bad fall.
My guy felt with a giant plop into the sand. Augh, that gotto hurt! But being a computer character he was still very alive and ready to try my next stunt.
My second stunt was a semi-success. While flying in the air, I removed my feet from the bike. When you do stunts like this, successfully, you'll be awarded with points according how good you performed your stunt.

What about the Race-Modes ?

After playing this practice-session with great satisfaction I had to check the rest out off the game.
Before you can begin with the serious things you've got to create a biker. You can name him and give him the bike and outfit you like. Once you're ready you can adjust your bike if you want too but I don't recommend this. Why not? Well adjusting the bike is like adjusting your car in a racing game. Meaning that only simulation fans will love this. If you are an arcade player and don't know a single thing about adjusting, please don't adjust anything. If you do, without knowing what you are adjusting, your bike could be even less responsive and slower then before.

The game features 5 different race-types. For each race-type there are even more circuits at your disposal.
You can probably imagine that you will need some time to win the race in each level. The Baja races are step-on-it circuits because there aren't much obstacles.
Enduro races are almost the same but now you drive in intensely populated areas. You don't drive anymore in deserts but in cities where you encounter airports, train stations, highways, etc.
These two race modes are the best ones to perform breathtaking stunts.

Another mode that is included in Motorcross Madness 2is "National". In this mode you don't have to do any stunts. These are technical races where you have to finish the level in time. Each level is marked with several checkpoints. When passing by a checkpoint, it will give you extra time to continue towards the next one.

"Supercross Races" are exactly the same but they are indoor. This mode is your quest for glory, with public.

The last race mode is "Stunt Quarry". Here you don't have to follow any circuits. Your only mission is to earn as much points as possible. You can race in almost any environment. Your biker can do in total 16 stunts. Of course there are simple and hard stunts to do but they're all very spectacular to see.

Of course you can do championships in every mode. The computer opponents are smart enough to beat you so better watch your back.
In championship mode, you start with other beginning bikers, just like you, and when you win the race you earn cash.
When you have enough money you can upgrade your own equipment or buy new things.
