A little introduction

On June 10th, the biggest European football-tournament began.
It is called Euro 2000 and it took place in Belgium and The Netherlands, the guest countries. Every European Country fought to get that shiny cup. The two finalist will play for the cup on July the second. France won the Euro 2000 cup.
Because football is one of the most popular sports in Europe, software developer and publisher "Electronic Arts", who brought us several other football games, made for this special event Euro 2000.

So how does the gameplay feel?

The almost familiar intro splashes upon your screen when you start the game, which is off course from superb quality. After the intro, that gives you the necessary attraction to play some football.
A nice main screen welcomes you. The Euro 2000 mascot helps you with the different play modes. You can chose between several game modes: 'friendly games', 'euro 2000', 'fast tournament', 'golden goal' and 'training'.
In 'friendly game' you can chose a team and an opponent to play a quick match.
In 'Euro 2000' you can play the whole championship, already updated. Belgium and The Netherlands are already qualified :-).
In 'fast tournament' you can make your own tournament with all the necessary options.
'Golden Goal' is a new feature in this EA sports collection. First you have to chose a team and an opponent, then a stadium. You can also adjust how much goals the winner has to make before he wins the match. The point is to make as much goals as you had set before you began the match. This is very cool 'cause almost all the action is in this game mode. Sometimes it will be very very close between victory and loss.
And as you probably could guess, in training mode, you can train. Just pick a team and an opponent and get ready to rumble.

When you start your first game, you will see high detailed football players in a gorgeous stadium full with enthusiastic people shouting there favourite players and teams.
There is also an option to adjust your team setup and a whole super-complete manager. They've even included a player editor, you can make changes to their outfit, face, etc... Further you can change the usual options like graphics and game-settings.
As you might notice, this game is very very complete!

You said smooth graphics?

You can be sure of it. Euro 2000 features an updated version of Fifa 2000. The stadiums are perfect copies of their original ones.
But sadly, the audience isn't that good. They're still flat sprites with not much dynamics in them. On the other hand, the football players and the referee are excellent and awesomely detailed.
In Euro 2000, you're even able to recognize you favourite players. They just look identically like their flesh and blood look-a-likes. Some players have long thin hair while others have thick hair. Some players even have a fat nose or big ears, very realistic. When a player scores, you can actually see him smile and shoot and they make special moves when they score. Pretty good.
Sometimes the whole team jumps towards the scorer. When they miss a shot, you will be able to see them shout against themselves and their teammates. When the get a red or yellow card, they look frustrated and they defend themselves against the referee. Also when a player is in big pain, he will scream.
Isn't that realistic or what??
