A little Introduction

Blood II: The Chosen begins in the year 2028, 100 years after the original events in Blood.
Caleb, Blood's undead anti-hero, has walked the Earth this entire time, mostly minding his own business, trying to get through day to day life, and going on the occasional mindless rampage when the mood strikes him.

The Cabal, the cult dedicated to the worship of the Dark God Tchernobog (Caleb's nemesis in Blood), has changed drastically over the years. No longer content to remain a disjointed army of fanatics, they have organized a corporation to front their activities. Cabalco, as it is called, has grown to hold global interests in every major economic market.
The Cabal's operations extend throughout this entire corporation, even to the point of recruiting its members from Cabalco employees. Some join willingly, some not so willingly. They are everywhere, and they consider Caleb and the other Chosen to be The Great Betrayers, those that destroyed the 16th incarnation of Tchernobog. The Cabal has dedicated itself to stopping Caleb. Gideon, the current leader of the Cabal, referred to by his followers as "The Word," has been raised from childhood to lead, and views the conflict between himself and Caleb as being very personal. Unfortunately for Caleb, there is more to him than just being a pissed-off dealer of death and destruction.
He is a living conduit of the power of every individual he's killed, including the Cabal's Dark God. Gideon and his Cabal will not rest until they restore Tchernobog. To achieve their goals they will hound Caleb to the ends of the Earth, they'll destroy entire dimensions and bring the world to its knees.

Welcome to the world of Blood. You're Caleb!

Blood!

A few years ago, Monolith released a game called Blood.
It used the Build engine from 3D-Realms (the same engine as Duke Nukem 3D). While it was not very stunning graphic-wise it had some cool ideas. Though because of the antique engine (2D sprites) the gameplay wasn't very satisfying.
Now Monolith brought out the sequel, Blood II: The Chosen.
It uses the brand new LithTech engine so you can play in a fully 3D environment. The neo-gothic style of Blood I is replaced by a sort of techno style and just like Blood I it takes place in a cityscape.

When you run the game, you first get a menu where you can choose between several options (launch game, multiplayer game, display, customise, advanced, etc). If it is your first time you run the game then you have to set your videocard first by clicking on the display button. After this is done you can launch the game.
If you are an expert you can change some other settings too, but I suggest you leave them just the way they are. When you are in the game you get another menu. If you select single player you can choose between the four Chosen, they all have their own abilities.
There are three difficulty levels in this game (geocide, homocide, suicide). You can also set your display, audio and controls in the options menu.

Caleb, the Chosen

Normaly you play the game as Caleb, but you have the option to play as any of the other Chosen (Ophelia, Gabriella and Ishmael).
They all have a different strength, resistance, speed and focus.
Caleb is the leader of The Chosen. He is ruthless and filled with hate and vengeance. He strives to regain what he believes was stolen from him: leadership of the Cabal, and his love, Ophelia. A man ruled by his emotions, he'd bring everyone to the brink of destruction to get what he wants.
Ophelia is a cold and cunning woman. Full of disgust over the undead creature that she has become, Ophelia is desperately searching for a way out. She'll do whatever it takes to escape from a world gone mad, a body she no longer knows and the love of a man she's grown to despise.
Gabriella is a warrior, she has been groomed for battle since she was a child. She is the ultimate walking weapon. She lives for death and thirsts for power. She is the strongest of The Chosen.
Ishmael is a man of few words and violent, decisive action. His command of the dark arts is greater than any of the other Chosen. Gifted with extreme intelligence, Ishmael is in the unique position of understanding the implications of everything that the Chosen do and have done.
